Fun Monday~ My "Bucket List"

This week's Fun Monday is being hosted by Tiggerlane, the Neophyte Blogger. This is Tigger's assignment:

Have you heard of The Bucket List? Well, that's what I want from you! Make a list of things you want to do before you die. It must be at least five items - and you can make it as long as you desire. Photos are optional. And let's hear about some of the wackiest, most bizarre to-do's on your Bucket List!

So here is my list:

1. I want to be happy
2. I want to be 100% debt free (that would massively help #1!)
3. I want to go to Australia. I want to be able to spend at least 2 weeks there... see Uluru, The Australia Zoo, the Great Barrier Reef and maybe take a little "Walk About". I am completely in love with Australia! (This one is only do able once #2 is accomplished. #1 would be achieved!)
4. I want to go up in the space shuttle. Hey, she did want to hear the wackiest stuff!
5. I want to go to the National Air and Space Museum in DC.
6. I want to visit my aunt and friend in Idaho, and my friend in Pennsylvania.
7. I also want to go to Bora Bora, Easter Island , The Dry Tortugas and Tierra Del Fuego (love the name!)
8. I want to live in a log cabin.
9. I want to be able to actually grow a nice garden full of vegetables!
10. I want to go fishing at least once a month. It relaxes me. When I'm fishing, I don't think of anything else. I need that kind of mental break more often.

Of course, there is the usual "I want to see my children married" and "I want to be healthy" etc., but, true as those may be, they're not really "Bucket List" deals, are they? Do I really expect to accomplish or do anything on my list? Probably not...maybe #6 and #10 are within reach one of these days, but my Bucket List is more like a Wish List. Wouldn't it be fun to be able to look back on everyone's blogs in the distant future, and see who all actually check items off their list? To everyone out there - I truly hope you get to knock as many things as possible off your list before you...um, well...croak?!?!

space shuttle and log cabin are two very diverse on the bucket list...two that are truly NEW and OLD. Interesting.

My Fun Monday is posted. I had a good time this week, voicing my opinions on Fun Monday.
Happy week to you.

Fantastic list. I can't believe I managed to leave space travel off my list.

I think the only way I would make it into space is if I was buried there.

I love your idea of looking back to see how we're doing on our list. That would be a good Fun Monday assignment for this time next year.

I believe that you will get to Australia--there's a lot of hoping and planning behind that wish in your post. Everyone goes about fufilling dreams differently but I don't beleive that you have to be debt free to realize your dreams--sometimes it all just works out if we forge ahead.

It would be fun to see if anyone has accomplished anything in a year of so. Or heck, even in three months...anything could happen in that amount of time.

Nice list... Number 2 is a biggie for me - and I totally didn't think of it when I was writing my own list.

Hey - the vegetable garden is actually quite easy. Anyone can do it if I can!

I agree with Australia. I'd love to go there too.

Great list. I want to do everything on it, I've actually been to National Air and Space Museum in DC. I don't think I would visit your friends ~ that would be creepy of me, no? Outerspace here we come!

Fishing once a month sounds like a good plan, especially if you're okay about the possible necessity of needing to order pizza for dinner.

Will there be working toilets in your log cabin?
I thought I hit enter, but I think my previous comment went into space with the shuttle I hear the toilets in them are sort of difficult, too :(>

Achieving the second item on your list will be unbelievably fulfilling and uplifting. I got there 3 years ago, and it makes life easier. Heck, each little milestone (pay off card, pay off student loans, pay off car...) is a weight off. When you slay the 800 pound gorilla (pay off mortgage) at the end you will experience a freedom you probably hadn't felt since you were a kid.

I really want to travel to Scotland and then to see some ancient ruins.

Great list, and I love your comments. I wish I could be debt-free, too. I have an uncle who is a great inspiration - almost 67, and only a smidge of debt. Thanks for participating!

Great list! You were not the only one to put space on your list, so I guess it wasn't that "strange" huh? ;-)

A great rounded list!! I have a few of yours on mine!!

I suppose urgency would make us cross these items off -- beig told we only had six months to live or whatever. I love your list, particularly the log cabin one.
