Thought it was time for a few shots of the other things growing in my yard.
So here is my silk floss tree. I call it my "Monkey No Climb" tree.
My small project last weekend. Yeah, I know, it's not a big deal. I just moved some thingies around my sapodilla tree and planted a cool fern. I think it looks nice, though. It'll look better once the fern really starts to take over that circle.
My Dancing Lady orchid finally popped!
As did this pretty, simple white one.
My squash and onions...
Collards!
More collards and squash.
I hope I can stop the bugs before they devour my squash once they bloom, as well as my two tomatoes. Late in the season for them, but I AM getting nice fruit from them.
This weekend I have no project. I plan on going kayaking.
My plans usually fall apart, though.
So who really knows what I'll do this weekend. What does everyone else have planned?

I love that you grow your vegetables in a BOAT!
We're just going to be partying fools this weekend. ZBoy's birthday was this past week, so I will be overrun by 8 and 9 year old boys for most of Saturday. Sunday will be recovery day.
MMM Collards! I already pulled mine, they weren't doing so hot. I started them late too. They are so good fresh. I'm telling ya. That's ok, I can't convince Chris of spinach but he eats my collard and mustard greens. HAH!
Our tomatoes are on the verge of waning. The summer is going to do them in and I"ll start seeds again in late August for an earlier harvest in Oct/Nov.
Are you going to Cane's house tomorrow?
Yes, I'll be at Cane's tomorrow. He told me you and Chris were coming, too. Cool!
Hey, can everyone see the video on this post? I can't, but if I click on the writing underneath, ti goes to it. Very strange...
Sayre,
A garden is the only thing that stupid boat is good for anymore. I kind of jumped the gun a bit and planted before I really had enough dirt, but so far, everything seems to be doing really well. When this batch of veggies dies off, I'll go buy LOTS more dirt and do it right next time.
I also have 8-10 watermelons sprouting on the side of my house next to my airconditioner! If all goes well, I should have melons for 4th of July!!!
I like the boat veggie garden as well. But I gotta say...I've never seen anything as unusual as that Silk Floss tree. Truly bizarre.
Harly really likes those collards - It funny how he will come when you have a leave. How many will he eat at a time.
I'm going to show this video to Samantha, she's going to love Harley! (Sam is 19, btw... but I think she'll love this 4 legged collard eater.)
And why do you want to trade houses with me? You have a green lawn!! I have DIRT!! I'm afraid to show everyone my lawn! LOL.
I love the boat garden, too. Whoa, that's a PERFECT conatiner for a garden!
YOu crack me up. Just put a garden in a boat? I guess you can take it with you if there's a flood. :)
I would grow collards for him too. He looks pretty aggressive about his eating. :)
I love your garden. And it's worth growing anything for that video...thanks for sharing
Your yard is gorgeous and I love the collards in the boat!!! What a great idea. We love collards and could eat them by the truck load but I haven't planted any for the last couple of years. I do have WAY too many tomatoes coming up though so I guess I'll be spending quite a bit of time canning this year.
I love your tortoise. Very cute.
I have never seen a tree like that! Wow, it is odd looking.
Jen
Save me some of those greens. I prefer mustard, but collards will do. 8-] He does go to town on those leafs, doesn't he?
I've about given up on making weekend plans. Lately, every last one has been tanked for one reason or another.
My first maters are just about ripe. Can't wait to pick those puppies. Honeydew and cantaloupe sprouts starting to take off. Mmmmmmm...
What a unusual tree! Beautiful in it's on way!
N.I.C.E. garden. It's time to plant one here. You've given me some inspiration. Except for the "horny" tree.. bwaa ha ha ha
