I don't know anything at all about the legalities of sponges, but he could've bought them somewhere in the Keys. There are places like The Shellman and Shell World that, I'm sure, would sell them in bulk for the right price.
My husband and I saw three hot air balloons the evening of Valentine's day. I was so jealous...he felt bad he didn't have that idea so I didn't let my longing to be on one show TOO much!
