Lighting a Fire Under One's A$$

So it looks mroe and more like Ike is going to head south and miss us. Oh sure, we'll get some weather out of it, but it's looking better than it did yesterday. Of course, hurricanes are not controlled by the National Weather Service and will do whatever they please, so we could still get hit. We'll know more tomorrow.

In the meantime, the threat has lit a fire under my ass, and I'm sure, several others as well. Cleaning up the yard, making dump runs, even cleaning out my garage...the things I love to do on my day off! So if Ike does make a visit, our yard will look nice and manicured, and my garage all cleared out.

We went to the grocery store just to buy some milk. I was expecting the usual "ohmygowe'reallgonnadie" circus at Publix, but nope. Sure it was busy, but it was calm and really nothing unusual. They still had plenty of water and I noticed most people seemed to be doing their regular shopping, not hurricane shopping. Business as usual.

I'm hoping I don't have to do my shutters Monday...keep heading south, Ike!

{ Oh, and my meds came this morning - Yay! }

Glad you got your meds. I hate dealing with bureaucrats.

If Duller ever gets home from his morning briefing, we'll be cleaning in the yard a bit. No fire yet, but I'd just as soon get it over with. I won't hold my breath, though, coz Duller needs an Ike to get him going, as well. And even then, he's kinda half-hearted about it.

Keep yer powder dry!

Glad your meds came. The last thing you need to be worrying about is that.

Gustav got us moving and we got all of that cleaning, prepping stuff done. And I've stayed on top of things since then so we won't have to do much if Ike comes our way - just board up the windows and haul ass to my friend's house in Alabama LOL

Sorry about the ‘insurance’ hassles. I’ve been there myself occasionally and know how frustrating thes things can be. Congratulations on getting things done under the threat of Ike and I hope it doesn’t strike your area. Actually, I’m praying that none of these storms wreak havoc anywhere for anyone.
Hugs and blessings,

Glad to hear you got your meds. If you have to leave town for Ike there is always a place for you at our house.

Thanks, Olive...I know! But I think everything's going to be ok down here this time.

I was hoping your meds would come today. We got our yard cleaned up before Faye so we are still in good shape. In fact, one of our museums still has its shutters up! It takes so long to get them up, we haven't felt comfortable taking them down yet. Stay safe!
