You can take the GRITS out of Florida, but you can't take Florida out of the GRITS!

Double Crap.

I'm not freaking out yet. Plan on doing the shutters on Monday and cleaning the yard up over the weekend. I know people who are leaving (read "evacuating") but we're staying. If we left, how hard would it be to come back? What if the place we go to gets hit worse than home? What if we're stuck out of town for any length of time...what about our jobs? School? Many places would stay closed for a while after the storm, depending on the damages, but they try to get the schools back open asap. It's a hard call...kind of one of those "damned if you do and damned if you don't" things.
No matter what happens, we WILL have some nasty weather late Tuesday/early Wednesday. Thank God I have a couple kayaks and a canoe!

Hope you found the batteries. I understand all your reasons for staying … my thoughts and prayers are with you (and everyone in the area scrambling like you are currently).
Hugs and blessings,

The 11:00 has moved the track farther south now and has it coming through the Keys. Let's hope it misses you and then let's hope it misses me! I am SO sick of this crap. Every time you turn on the weather there's another one coming.

Oh boy...we're about 3/8" NNW of you in the picture & that 11AM track puts us on the East side...that's bad...

They shut the County down for Fay, then all we got was about 1/4" of rain...so far it's like "the boy who cried wolf" & no one is worrying about Ike...We're going to Winn Dixie after work today...Maybe it's time to buy water & peanut butter

Well, the 5:00 advisory has it dropping south, but they said there is still alot of time and room for that to change. Andrew changed course, this one can, too. Key West has a mandatory evacuation of tourists and residents are supposed to pull out Sunday...

I haven't visited you for a couple of days and I see you are in the path of the storm. It must be so scary, I just can't imagine what it's like. I will be thinking and keeping fingers crossed for you to be safe.
