TICKS!

OMG, I just found TWO ticks on my desk here at work. I am freaking out!

Does anyone know if massive amounts of rain brings them out or what? It's disgusting. I am sitting here thinking that I feel them crawling on every inch of my body, especially the dark nether regions that I hear ticks like to hang out in.

Gross.

I guess it could. Pretty weird to have them inside at a desk tho.

Ick! Not to alarm you, but they could have come in with you.

And, not to alarm the other women out there, but I have found out backpacking that should "that time of the month" arrive, the ticks descend upon you, your clothes, your tent, like a magnet.

So not only are you inconvenienced dealing with that in the woods, you have the ticks to make it extra special.

We hate ticks! We've gotten them too many times on this trip. Eliana has a real itchy red swollen bite from one that she got yesterday. Every time we discover them on us, we become hypersensitive for the next 24 hours, dreaming of ticks, and every itch and every tingle on our bodies must be a tick! Yuck! If you see tick taxis on the trails (a.k.a. deer), then assume there are ticks in the area. Not sure how those ones got on your desk though?

Oh I hate ticks! If I see one I feel itchy for days and then it keeps me awake imagining they are on me. I had one on my leg a few days ago. I'm still itchy. :)

Last summer I found one that I thought was a dark spot on my, is it ok to say? On my nip. . . area. I YELLED! And made hubby get it off.

UGH! UGH! UGH! I LOATHE ticks! That's the one redeeming feature of our winters up here... being able to walk down the back path without picking up hitchhikers.

Hey, I've been missing the Google Earth challenge. (Not that I was any good at it, but ti WAS fun.) Are you gonna pick it up again?

Hi All! Thanks for your comments. Except for you, Heather...UGH!!!! It is not my time of the month, either...my boss sprayed last night, so we'll see if it's done any good.

I fully expect ticks if walking through a cow pasture or area that has hogs or deer...but here at work?!? Yes, I work in the woods, but still, c'mon!

My boss has a dog that she brings to work each day. Soooo I think that is the cause.

I dreamed of ticks last night, too!

Oh, they are so GROSS!

Oh, and yes, the google earth challenges will be back just as soon as my internet connection problems are fixed once and for all. I have a tech coming out tonight to find out what the problem is...after 7 phone calls in 6 days!!

Yeah, I know it was gross to post, but I think all women should be alert to the fact that they can be vulnerable to these nasty things at an inopportune time.

Hey there - I'm totally remiss in coming to visit your site to say hello: you left me such a lovely comment a week or so ago and I wanted to say THANK YOU! (Don't ask why I chose the tick post on which to comment. I'm not sure I could tell you. ;-)

I don't think we have as many tick problems in the NW, but when I lived in Boston I was constantly checking the pooch for them after our walks. Thankfully she never had any, but... ugh. It's kind of like talking about head lice: suddenly your scalp starts itching. :) ICK!
