You can take the GRITS out of Florida, but you can't take Florida out of the GRITS!

RIP, my old friend

I'm posting this from work at the risk of getting canned...

My computer's power source got fried and is beyond repair. At least I can get anything that I saved on it, off thanks to a computer knowledgeable friend. There were no power surges, no lightening strikes. I think it just decided to take it's own life.

So in the meantime, my computer access will be limited. I think I'll need all your prayers to keep my sanity!

Sorry about your computer but at least a power supply is relatively inexpensive to replace. I've lost 2 in the past year and a half. Too bad they don't give them an antidepressant before they ship them out of the factory. Then again maybe they depress them intentionally (ya know, whisper to them how hard their lives will be and how they'll be all alone in those computers before they ship them off)so we'll have to replace them more often LOL
Hope you're up and running again soon!

Well, it's more than just the power source. The processor is toast. I just need to save up enough $$$ to go buy a new computer, so it may take a while. I do have the hard drive, though, and everything's still on it, so that's a plus.

It's going to be tough getting through this weekend without my computer!

Well......I have an old computer that I've worked on, or I should say, experimented on, for a spell. It does work, and currently has Windows 98 loaded. It kind of looks like it's been in a fight and lost. Beat up, ugly, case has holes in it where I tried to install items that didn't fit or work...... But it does work and you can get on the internet.

If you are desperate enough, I'll be happy to give it to you free of charge with the condition that if it electrocutes you or causes your home to explode you don't sue me.....It is just the CPU, so you would have to use your current monitor, keyboard, etc.

Let me know.

It's never something simple is it? At least the hard drive is intact. That would have been a horible loss.

I've tagged you for a meme so if you're interested stop by my site and pick it up.
