You can take the GRITS out of Florida, but you can't take Florida out of the GRITS!

Cold Snap!

When I woke up this morning, it was 53 degrees! I'm loving having the airconditioner turned off and the windows open (when it warms up in the afternoon). I know it won't last but a few days, but it is just so damn nice!

I checked on my garden this morning...looks like I'll be getting some okra. I don't like it, but I'm hoping Harley will. I think alot of what I grow, I grow for her!

The Bell Peppers will NOT become tortoise food, though!

When I planted the peppers and tomatoes, I mixed my compost in some fresh dirt and I guess there were a few cantalope seeds in it...

Maybe they'll do better in cooler weather? The last ones never got any bigger than my fist and though they smelled great, they were a little bitter. Guess time will tell.

We're loving the cool weather and it looks like your veggies are too.

I's be just a bit happier if there was heat in my cottage...Mornings like this I turn the gas oven on high to heat the place...And it makes taking the dog out a whole lot less fun...But once the sun is up it's wonderful...These are the days we mean when we talk about doing a hike when the weather cools off...It seems a shame to waste this day on something dumb (like work)

WooHoo!! It's gotten a little colder up here too. 60s in the daytime and 40s at night. Perfect!
I love hot weather but it's just not Fall and the holidays without a little cool weather.

Your veggies look great. Buddy the Beagle destroyed every plant I had growing in the yard so nothing fresh from the garden for us this year LOL
