Guavas!
The winds of Ike have been kicking up all day and are expected to get worse tonight and through tomorrow. I decided I'd better go out and get any ripe guavas off the tree before they got blown off. These are just a few. Some are small, but some are HUGE for guavas! So far I have 3 gallons worth frozen and ready to give to my sister so she can make some yummy guava jam.

I made some guava/passion juice the other day. We had some guava's left from work and they were super good! Mine weren't pink like yours, though.
I LOVE guava jelly!!!! My son had developed an affinity for it as well. I wish we had guava trees here (I guess it gets too cold) because it's SO expensive in the grocery store!
Guava Jelly - last time I was down someone who shall remain nameless bought me a guave danish. Is there any thing they don't make from that stuff? Hey you love story Guave or is that just how it starts?

DAWG! Those look GOOOOOOOOD!!! I sure wish I was in my grammaw's back yard right now, eating my fill of guavas, pomegranates and cherries fresh from the trees. How about bottle up some of the smell and send it up here to the Floridarctic regions? 8-]
I'm so jealous! Those look wonderful. They won't grow up here and I've yet to find a good store brand guava jam.
Glad you dodged the Ike bullet! Looks like Texas is in for a blow though.
Oh yum! Right now my co-worker is in his office eating cream cheese and guava jam on crackers for his breakfast...Bet your is better!

Lj, just about anything made from guavas is good. And no, that's not my love sotry. I didn't do one this week, silly!
I picked a few last Sunday and the smell is pretty fabulous!

I am not sure if I have ever had them before but am sure my hubs would love them! He misses a lot of those tropical fruits.
What else could you use guava's for? A fruit Michigan doesn't really see....
