Cheap Entertainment

It was a slow day at work today, so to entertain myself, I stepped outside and endulged myself in one of my favorite forms of entertainment.

I flicked leaves into the web of a Golden Orb spider.

It's neat to watch her go down to the leaf, thoroughly inspect it, then toss it out. She sprung right back to the center of her web really fast, too.

The video isn't very good at all, but you can get the idea.

A big shout out my friends Marc and Eliana who are on an incredible cross country road trip. Hey guys! I got your post card today! Thanks so much for thinking of me!!! Love ya and stay safe!!!

Check out their blog...link is on the left somewhere in that long list of my favorite blogs. You'll be glad you did!

That is so funny! You're the only person I know who would throw leaves at a spider's web to watch the spider throw them back LOL LOL

Looks like the way I entertain myself. :) I once sat and watched the sump pump filling up and draining and yes, I video taped it. :)

Oh Lisa, that's sad...

Today I took extreme enjoyment (and amazement) at watching a dung beetle totally do away with a big pile of poop my dog left right by the back porch. A few hours of diligent work and that pile was G-O-N-E! Nature never ceases to amaze!

The video was so cool! I'm afraid to admit, that in my younger days, I used to throw insects into spider webs and watch them roll their victims up with silk and suck out the juices. Eliana would not be happy about that! Glad you enjoyed the postcard :)
