myspace - love it or hate it?

Myspace has been in the news lately do to the sad suicide of a young girl. I'm not going to talk about that. It's all over the news and Oprah so I don't need to repeat it here. What I want to know is, do you like myspace or do you hate it? Do you have a myspace account? If so, what do you use it for?

I have had an account for a while now and I love it. I used to blog on it, but not anymore. I don't even go on it all that often. But what I love about it, is that through myspace, I have found long lost friends that I otherwise wouldn't have found. We now email each other fairly regularly. It makes it fun and easy to keep up with the goings on of my "friends". I like looking at the pictures my friends have posted. The majority of my friends don't blog...either they think it's stupid, don't have time for it or just don't see the point in it. My sister thinks blogging is stupid (she doesn't do myspace, either).

I hear alot of people complaining about how myspace is full of kids. Well, it is. But it's not just kids...not at all. And besides, there are steps you can take to avoid unwanted juvenile crap. Set your page to private. Don't accept strangers as "friends". Pretty simple.

So that's why I have a myspace account. Just wondering the thoughts of everyone else out there.

I don't like myspace for me but all my kids are there and I have an account to check up on the underage ones, although now there's only two of them left.

I confess, I always think of it as the kid's blogger. My students all buzz about it, but I've never took advantage of it.

I have a myspace account, which was also where I started my blog. Now I rarely look at it, unless someone sends me a message. Of course blogger, facebook and twitter have taken it's place.

What the hell did we do before the internet?
